ABOUT ME

Hello, I’m Michele!

I work with individual adults, couples, adolescents, children and families using an integrative approach that reaches beyond simply treating problematic behaviors and symptoms. My priority is always to create a safe and accepting environment where my clients feel seen, heard, and understood as I support them in a process of understanding themselves and how they relate to others.

I believe every client has a story that has been influenced by their unique life experiences and circumstances. With respect and compassion, I support my clients in creating powerful changes in a way that honors their individual values, beliefs, and culture. Through a collaborative process I help my clients address their individual challenges and explore obstacles and barriers holding them back.

Earning my bachelor’s degree in psychology over 30 years ago began my interest in mental health. I went on to earn my M.A. in Education and Single-Subject Teaching Credential in Health from Pepperdine University which gave me an appreciation for the unique challenges teenagers are confronted with today. I also spent 14 years as a personal trainer and wellness coach helping individuals achieve their health and fitness goals. Finally, the foundation of my clinical experience stems from my graduate program at The Chicago School where I received my M.A. in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy.

My clinical work involves a wide range of client concerns including but not limited to increasing self-worth and confidence, life transitions, boundary and relationship issues, anxiety, depression, sexual and gender identity concerns, substance use, grief, trauma, family conflicts, and parenting problems.

I am available both in-person and via telehealth.

If you have questions or would like to know more about working with me, feel free to text/call at 949-258-3269 or email me at michelelgillman@gmail.com.
